The performance goals for the incentive awards based on 2024 performance were designed so that the target level of awards would be paid if we met our budgetary and related financial goals. With respect to two of our traditional performance metrics, return on average assets and diluted earnings per share, we decided for 2024 to continue to use pre-tax/pre-provision earnings, which are earnings (net income) excluding income tax expense and the provision for credit losses and excluding all gains and losses.
